Sarah Macintosh Colvin was born near Elgin on 22 March 1891. She trained as a Nurse at the Royal Infirmary, Aberdeen, 1914-17, after which she joined the Q.A.I.M.N.S.R. in January 1917. Colvin served in Dublin, 1917-18. She entered the Mesopotamia theatre at Basrah in June 1918. In August 1919 when serving with the 23rd British Stationary Hospital, Baghdad, she extended her service in the Q.A.I.M.N.S.R. and in 1923 joined the Q.A.I.M.N.S., serving until September 1925. With a folder containing a quantity of copied service papers.
