Walter Charles Newman was born and lived in Redlynch, Wiltshire and enlisted at Salisbury. Serving with the 1st Battalion Wiltshire Regiment, he was killed in action, France/Flanders, on 5 February 1915, aged 33 years. He was buried in the Kemmel Chateau Military Cemetery, Heuvelland, Belgium. The son of Mark and Emily Newman of School Road, Redlynch, Salisbury.
