Pair: Air Mechanic 1st Class L. J. Turner, an early entrant to the wartime Royal Naval Air Service

Lionel James Turner was born in Byfleet, Surrey in July 1892 and entered the Royal Naval Air Service on 10 August 1914, when he was appointed an Air Mechanic 1 and allocated the number ‘F. 4’. He subsequently served in No. 3 Wing from April 1915 until June 1917, when he took up an appointment at Wormwood Scrubbs, and, prior to transferring to the Royal Air Force in April 1918, he was serving on attachment to the Admiralty; sold with copied service record.
