William Colebourne was born at Mackworth, Derby, and enlisted into the 37th Foot at Derby on 11 August 1841. He served for 21 years 5 days and when discharged at Pembroke Dock on 15 August 1862, was in possession of ‘the Silver Medal with Gratuity of Five Pounds for Long Service and Good Conduct and also the Indian Mutiny Medal for 1857’. Sold with copied discharge papers.
