James Edward Moore was born in Faversham, Kent, on 3 January 1888. An Iron Worker by occupation, living in Toronto, he enlisted into the 124th (Governor General’s Bodyguard) Battalion on 1 January 1916. Arriving in England and thence France, he was taken onto the strength of the 18th (Western Ontario) Battalion, and served with them until killed in action on 23 May 1917. He was buried in the Nine Elms Military Cemetery, Thelus; sold wiith copied service papers.
