Alan Sinclair Hodnett was born in Birtle, Manitoba, on 23 June 1883. Having served for one year in the 12th Manitoba Dragoons, he enlisted into the 184th Battalion at Miniola in February 1916. He was killed in action at Fresnoy on 3 May 1917, while serving in the 27th (City of Winnipeg) Battalion. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Vimy Memorial; sold with copied service papers.
