The Society awarded the following medals to the crew of the barque Albert Williams: Jo Walker, Master of the barque, gold medal; Martin Alfred Petersen, Boatswain, silver medal; John Dyke, James Anderson, and John Ekland, all Seamen, silver medals. For their gallant and heroic conduct in assisting in saving the lives, during a terrific gale and sea, of 39 men from the foundering S.S. Dandenong on 10th September, off Jervis Bay, New South Wales.’
