Highrs.); India General Service 1918-35, 1 clasp, North West Frontier 1908 (10357 Pte., 1st Bn. Sea. Highrs.); British war Medal (10357 Cpl., Seaforth); Victory Medal, this last unnamed, presumably as issued, generally good very fine (5) £600-800

D.C.M. London Gazette 6 August 1918 ‘For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty during an enemy attack. As a battalion scout he carried out many valuable reconnaissances under heavy machine gun and artillery fire. He was invaluable in rallying stragglers and guiding them back to their companies, and in discovering dispositions both of our own and of the enemy’s. Throughout he did very fine service.’
