One set only illustrated. At York Minster on 5 April 2012 two purses of Maundy money were given to 86 men and 86 women – a white purse containing 86p in Maundy coins and a red purse containing a £5 coin and a 50p piece. Usually Maundy money is given to pensioners from one diocese each year, but in 2012 the recipients were chosen in recognition of their services to the Church and their communities
