Miscellaneous, Engraved coin, an Edward VII Penny [1902-10], portrait engraved with a top hat, cigarette, collar and cloak, rev. planed flat and engraved with a horse galloping left, west yorks on banner below, 31mm, 8.20g. Trench art; very fine workmanship £40-50
The galloping horse is the badge of the West Yorkshire regiment and this is evidently the work of a soldier serving in that regiment in World War I, when the regiment distinguished themselves on the Somme, at Passchendaele, Cambrai and Gallipoli
