William McOnie, who was born in Burma in January 1927, entered the Merchant Navy as a Cadet in the Queen Adelaide in March 1945. Awarded the Naval General Service Medal in respect of his services as Second Officer of the M.V. Egidia in the Far East at the end of 1956, he appears to have come ashore in late 1971; sold with copied service record.
