Three men by these names in the Merchant Navy lost their lives in the 1939-45 War - a Second Engineer aboard the S.S. Abbotsford in March 1940, an Able Seaman aboard the S.S. British General in October 1940, and a Fireman and Trimmer aboard the S.S. Lancastrian Prince in April 1943. And all three ships were victims of U-Boat attack.
