Fife Mounted Rifles and Fife Light Horse Helmet Plates 1864 - 1900, the first item comprises a four pointed sheet metal star overlaid with a saltire cross and the Thane of Fife in silver plate, on the bottom arm of the cross the precedence numeral ‘IX’ on a separate scroll in white metal ‘Pro Aris Et Focis’ with ‘FMR’ in copper mounted in the centre; the second item displays a crowned beaded star in white metal overlaid with a brass saltire cross this in turn mounted with the Thane of Fife in white metal, on a scroll below in white metal ‘Pro Aris Et Focis’ and mounted in the centre in brass with ‘FLH’, all fasteners present, in very good condition (2) £500-700
