Egyptian Army Headdress Badge c. 1882, a very interesting item 8.4 x 6.2 cm comprising a multi-rayed elongated star in cast white metal with central brass oval mounted in turn with a white metal Arabic inscription, four loop fasteners, together with a piece of period inked linen ‘Picked up after the Battle of TEL-EL-MAHUTA 25th August 1882 by C.W.Ripley, Colr. Sergt. Royal Marines, H.M.S. Carysfort’, good condition (2) £80-120
