Egypt and Sudan 1882-89, undated reverse, 2 clasps, Suakin 1885, Tofrek (180 Pte. H. Bunter, 1/Rl. Berks. R.) edge bruising, contact marks, nearly very fine £250-300

Henry Bunter was born in St. Helier, Jersey. A Tailor by occupation, he attested for the Royal Berkshire Regiment at Gosport on 4 January 1882, aged 19 years. In 1883 he was tried and imprisoned several months for striking a superior officer. With the regiment he served in Egypt, September 1884-March 1886, being severely wounded in the right arm at the battle of Ginnis, 30 December 1885. As a consequence of his wound he was invalided to England and discharged in June 1886.
