R.) mounted for wear; together with Silver War Badge, officially stamped, ‘18911’, additionally inscribed, ‘Thos. M. Pyke 17923, Barnard Road Birkenhead’, with support chain and pin; and identity disk, ‘T. M. Pyke’ ‘ 19SBLR 17923 Wes.’ and Liverpool Pals’ cap badge, reverse inscribed, ‘No. 17923 T. M. Thomas Pyke served in the Cadet Battalion King’s Liverpool Regiment before joining the Liverpool Pals, enlisting on 11 September 1914. The silver ‘Liverpool Pals’ Badge was presented to approximately the first 2,000 volunteers. Pyke entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 7 November 1915. He was discharged from the 3rd Battalion due to wounds on 1 May 1917. He was awarded Silver War Badge no. ‘211570’. With copied m.i.c. and roll extract.
