The 1st Battalion Royal Ulster Rifles formed part of the 29th Independent Infantry Brigade, which bore the brunt of the attack by three divisions of the Chinese 63rd Army as they sought to break through the U.N. lines at the Imjin River and on towards the South Korean capital of Seoul. Rifleman V. Dean, Royal Ulster Rifles was wounded in action on 25 April 1951. A published roll gives the date as 2 May 1951. With copied details of the Battle of Imjin River, 22-25 April 1951.
