Henry I (1100-1135), Piedfort striking in lead, Quatrefoil with Piles type, Chichester, Brant, brant : on : cices, 2.41g/1h (cf. HHK 186, same rev. die (?); cf. N 863; cf. S 1268). On a rectangular flan, about very fine, UNIQUE £600-800
There is only one tentatively attributed specimen of this mint/type combination known. Published by H.H. King in BNJ 28, p.72 and pl. iii, 33, it came from the P.W.P. Carlyon-Britton Sale, part II, Sotheby Auction, 20-24 November 1916, lot 1338. The present specimen appears to be from the same reverse die and thus confirms the previously uncertain mint reading
