Private George Thatcher, 2nd Battalion Wiltshire Regiment, died of enteric fever at Naauwpoort on 26 March 1900. His name is commemorated on the Boer War Memorial, Salisbury Cathedral. He was the son of Albert and Annie Thatcher, of Little Chalfield, Bradford-on-Avon. With copied roll extract and other research.
