Only a volunteer force of approximately 80 members of the Parachute Regiment served Malaya with S.A.S.

When serving in Egypt, it was reported in the July 1954 edition of Pegasus, that ‘... Ptes. Gallagher and Whiteside, also of “C” Company, shot and captured a native who was attempting to break into Pegasus Village.’ With copied extracts from Pegasus and a listing of the Parachute Regiment Squadron in Malaya, 1955-57.
