Frederick Fox was granted a commission in the 88th Regiment through his family connections in 1855. Served in the suppression of the Indian Mutiny and was awarded the medal with clasp. Later transferred to the 20th Regiment. As a Lieutenant in the 20th he retired by the sale of his commission c. 1862. With copied research including copied roll extract confirming clasp.
