Denis Keliher Wells, who was born in October 1917, was commissioned in the Royal Artillery direct from the ranks of the H.A.C. in January 1940. Advanced to War Substantive Captain in February 1944, he saw action in North-West Europe, latterly as a Temporary Major, and he was awarded the Efficiency Medal in 1965 (London Gazette 16 March 1965 refers); sold with the recipient’s Officers’ Release Book; Certificate of Transfer; Paymaster’s Advice Note; a copied photograph and three badges.
