Beaumont Edward Tebbs was born on 24 January 1916. From the African Colonial Forces he gained emergency commissions as a 2nd Lieutenant on 10 October 1939 and served as Captain, Temporary Major, November 1944-May 1946. Promoted to Captain in July 1946 and Major in January 1952. Served in the Dorsetshire Regiment and Royal Corps of Signals.
