Thomas Ainsworth was born in and enlisted at Darwen, Lancashire. He originally served in the Border Regiment. Serving with the 9th Battalion Loyal North Lancashire Regiment, he was killed in action, France/Flanders, on 7 June 1917, aged 42 years. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial. He was the son of Thomas and Rachel Ainsworth and husband of Amy Olive Ainsworth, of 19 Haworth Street, Darwen, Lancashire. With copied m.i.c. and casualty details.
