5574 Private W. Williams, 1st Battalion Liverpool Regiment, was wounded in action near Witpoort, 12 October 1900. The wounds resulted in the loss of use of his right arm and having been invalided home, Williams was discharged on 21 December 1901. Note: he is listed as ‘J. Williams’ in the published casualty roll.
