Private (Acting Corporal) George Brown, late served in the Gordon Highlanders. With copied m.i.c.

John Niven was born in Paisley. An Apprentice Riveter by occupation, he attested for the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders, Territorial Force at Paisley on 29 May 1914, aged 17 years. Served in the B.E.F., August 1916-March 1918, posted to the 1st/7th Battalion in January 1917. Wounded in the knee in April 1917. With copied m.i.c. and service papers.
