Edward B. Kaminski, formerly employed at the Logan’s Ferry Coal Mine. Enlisting into the U.S. Marine Corps, he left for active service on 20 January 1942. After training at Parris Island and Quantico, Virginia, he was shipped overseas in July 1944. Serving with the 3rd Battalion 28th Marines, 5th Marines Division, he was wounded in action on Iwo Jima, 3 March 1945 - this being his first combat duty.
With newspaper cutting, bearing his picture, announcing that Pfc Edward B. Kaminski had been wounded in action on Iwo Jima. Also with identity disks (2) ‘Kaminski Edward B 948256 T-11-48 A USMCR’; together with Expert Rifleman Badge; belt buckle; riband bar and uniform insignia for display purposes.
