Arthur Overton Luckman was appointed Captain in the Royal Engineers (Militia), Submarine Miners, Thames Division, on 15 June 1898. He was attached to the Gold Coast Regiment and served in West Africa, 1900, during the operations in Ashanti (Medal). During the Great War he served as Hon. Captain on the East African Unattached and Miscellaneous List, in East Africa from 6 October 1915.
