George Ward was born and lived in Stafford and enlisted at Lichfield. Serving with the 1st Battalion North Staffordshire Regiment, he entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 10 September 1914. He died of wounds on 22 March 1915 and was buried in the Ferme Buterne Military Cemetery, Nord, France. He was the brother of Mr A. W. Ward, of 1 Fancy Walk, Stafford. With copied m.i.c. showing entitlement to a a clasp to his 1914 Star.

Private Thomas F. Jones, 9th Battalion North Staffordshire Regiment, entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 28 July 1915. Transferred to Class ‘Z’ Reserve on 12 February 1919. With copied m.i.c. and medal roll.
