Donald Laird McGeorge was born in Carlisle and enlisted at Manchester. Serving with the 1st/8th Battalion Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders he entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 5 December 1915. He was killed in action at the 1st Battle of the Scarpe, 9 April 1917 and was buried at the Highland Cemetery, Rolincourt. He was the son of Mr A. & Mrs A. McGeorge, of 170 Tipping Street, Ardwick, Manchester. With copied casualty details and m.i.c.
