Kary Zufelt was born in Percy Township, Ontario on 17 December 1895. Employed as a Farmer in Warkworth, Ontario, he attested for the 139th Overseas Battalion C.E.F. at Warkworth on 25 November 1915. Served in France with the Canadian Mounted Machine Gun Brigade. Served at home during the Second World War, latterly awarded the Efficiency Medal as a member of the Canadian Provost Corps.
