Richard Singleton was born on 11 February 1894. A Rancher by occupation, he served in the R.N.C.V.R. from 20 December 1916. As an Ordinary Seaman he served on H.M.C.S. Niobe - the Halifax depot ship, December 1916-January 1917; on Vivid, January-April 1917; Victory, April-October 1917; Thalia, October 1917-January 1918, and Victory, January-March 1918. He returned to Niobe in March 1918 and died at the Military Hospital Halifax, Nova Scotia on 25 March 1918. He was buried in Halifax (St. John’s) Cemetery. He was the son of the late James Goulshowe Singleton and Jane Eliza Singleton. With copied service papers.
