Medal and clasp confirmed. British Battles & Medals lists 28 ‘1877’ clasps awarded to the Prince Alfred’s Guard Rifle Volunteers, out of a total of 108, the majority to Colonial troops. The advance against the Galekas did not start until late September 1877, hence the rarity of this single year clasp.
