Private Herbert Hammond, 2nd Battalion Scottish Rifles, entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 5 November 1914. Latterly a Serjeant in the 1st Battalion Scottish Rifles, with whom he probably served in order to qualify for the clasp. With copied m.i.c. - clasp confirmed.
