A scarce 1821 pattern light cavalry sword for an officer of the North West Provinces Police, the straight 89cm blade by R B Rodda & Co. Calcutta, etched on both sides with crowned badge containing VR cypher, and ‘N.W.P. & Oudh Police Force 1857-58’, amid floral scrolls, regulation steel 3 bar guard, chequered pommel and partly chequered backstrap, fish-skin covered grip bound with silver wire, complete with its wood scabbard covered with brown leather, steel top locket and chape, some service wear overall £200-250
