Charles Frederick Gleig was taken on the strength of the S.A. Divisional Signalling Company in September 1916 and served in Nyasaland from November 1916 until December 1918. He was discharged at Roberts Heights in February 1919; sold with copied medal issuance sheet.
John Sydney McChesney was taken on the strength of the 84th S.A. Miscellaneous Trades Company in June 1917 and served in France from October of the same year until the war’s end. A lucky survivor of the influenza pandemic - he was hospitalised in Rouen in February 1919 - McChesney was discharged back in South Africa that May; sold with copied service record.
