India General Service 1854-95, 1 clasp, Burma 1885-7 (2842 Pte. M. King, 2d Bn. S. Wales Bord.) suspension refitted, contact marks, nearly very fine £80-100

Michael King was born in Fermoy, Co. Cork. He enlisted at Chatham on 16 September 1867, aged 17 years. With the South Wales Borderers he served overseas and was awarded South Africa Medal 1877-79 without clasp and the above medal, possibly also awarded the ‘Burma 1887-9’ clasp. Several times promoted, he ended his service as a Private in December 1890. With copied service papers.
