ROYAL VICTORIAN MEDAL, G.V.R., silver; Jubilee 1897, bronze; Coronation 1902, bronze; Coronation 1911; Jubilee 1935; Coronation 1937; LONG AND FAITHFUL SERVICE MEDAL, G.V.R., dated 1897-1917, with two extra long service bars, THIRTY YEARS (scroll type), FORTY YEARS (later type introduced in 1931), mounted court style, extremely fine (7)

James Copple was born 9 November 1875 and entered the Royal Household as a Footman in 1897. He was promoted Page, 1910; Page of the Presence, 2nd class, 1911; Page of the Backstairs, 1920; Palace Steward, 1935 and transferred to Queen Mary's Household as Steward, 1936. He retired in 1945 and died 1 June 1956.
