CRIMEA 1854-55, 3 clasps, Alma, Balaklava, Inkermann (Lieut. Vincent Mackesy, 63rd Foot), engraved naming, with ribbon buckle and mounted on a Victorian display stand, the medal surrounded by a silver wreath of oak leaves and acorns, hallmarked London, 1871, on a velvet pad with silver support arm. A most unusual and attractive contemporary display, in very fine condition

Lieutenant Vincent Mackesy proceeded with his regiment on board the 'Avon' for service in the Crimea and fought with them at the battles of Alma, Balaklava and Inkermann. He was subsequently sent for duty at Scutari and died there on the 7th March, 1855.
