ORDER OF THE INDIAN EMPIRE, C.I.E., gold and enamel neck badge, in Garrard case of issue; ORDER OF THE BRITISH EMPIRE, O.B.E., 1st type, reverse named and dated; INDIA GENERAL SERVICE 1908-35, 1 clasp, Afghanistan N.W.F. 1919 (Lieut. Col., Pol. Dept.); DELHI DURBAR 1903, silver, with silver ribbon buckle, extremely fine (4)

Lieutenant-Colonel Arthur Leslie Jacob was educated at Sherborne and joined the 2nd Gloucestershire Regiment in 1891, transferring to the Indian Army in 1892. He joined the Indian foreign and political department in 1895. He was Political Agent for Zob, Baluchistan, 1912, and for Kalat, 1920. His services in Afghanistan, 1919, were rewarded with the C.S.I. in 1920. He had previously been awarded the C.I.E. in 1914 and the O.B.E. in 1918.
