Ronald Percy Pratt served during World War Two with H.M.S. Hornet, Coastal Forces base at Gosport. He was Engineering Manager at Portsmouth Dockyard 1957-60 and at Rosyth 1960-64; Assistant Director, Royal Naval Engineering Services, 1964-69, as Production Manager, H.M.S. Dockyard Rosyth. He was responsible for the introduction of the first Royal Navy craft to be powered by gas turbine engines, His Majesty's Motor Gunboat 2009. The lot is sold with original warrants and statutes for the O.B.E. and C.B.E., a quantity of official photographs, three portrait photographs including one of Captain Pratt receiving his C.B.E., and newspaper cuttings.
