A group of five medals to A. J. Ade, Stoker Petty Officer, Royal Navy, who was also awarded the Conspicuous Gallantry Medal at Gallipoli.

1914-15 STAR(Act. L. Sto. R.N.); BRITISH WAR MEDAL (S.P.O.); VICTORY MEDAL, name erased; R.F.R. LONG SERVICE, G.V.R. (SPO., R.F.R.); LONDON FIRE BRIGADE good service medal (Fireman, C.G.M.), very fine (5)

Arthur J. Ade, leading stoker, Royal Navy, was awarded the Conspicuous Gallantry Medal on 15 May, 1916, for an action at Gallipoli:- 'On July 9th 1915, when his picket boat was struck by a shrapnel shell and steam pipe perforated, Stoker Ade, though the engine room was full of steam, went down and shut off steam and brought up the leading stoker who was severely wounded and scalded.' The present whereabouts of his C.G.M. are not known.
