George Crocker served as a Boy 2nd Class aboard H.M.S. Talbot at Syria. He was aboard H.M.S. Ploverin 1848 when it took part in one of the many search expeditions to find Sir John Franklin. During the operations in the Baltic, 1854, he was Captain's Coxwain aboard H.M.S. Ajax.
