Sold with a letter of congratulation from Lieut-General A. L. C. Maclean, Commander of the Army, dated 30 April 1980 which states: 'Notification of your award has not been made in a Government Gazette for reasons which I am sure you will appreciate, but a certificate commemorating the award will be printed and sent to you as soon as possible. Notice of the award will be made in General Orders although a copy of the citation will not be published as has been the custom in the past. Your award will be presented to you at an informal private investiture. Regrettably there can be no publicity of the event again for reasons which will be obvious to you. '
