There is some confusion on the medals rolls as to Beresford's correct clasp entitlement. On the roll for the Commander-in-Chiefs Bodyguard he is shown to have also served in Lord Strathcona's Horse, the Johannesburg Mounted Rifles and Stockriders O. R. C. On the roll for Strathcona's Horse he is noted as Lieutenant and Inspector of Stock Farms.
