THE MOST DISTINGUISHED ORDER OF ST. MICHAEL AND ST. GEORGE, C.M.G., breast badge in silver-gilt and enamels, lacking ribbon buckle, some chips to both centres; THE MOST EXCELLENT ORDER OF THE BRITISH EMPIRE, C.B.E. (Military), 1st type neck badge, small chip to one arm; QUEEN'S SOUTH AFRICA 1899-1902, 3 clasps, Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Transvaal (Capt. R.G.A.); CHINA 1900, no clasp (Capt., R.G.A.); BRITISH WAR MEDAL (Lt. Col.); Russia, ORDER OF ST. STANISLAS, 2nd class badge in gold and enamels, these last four mounted on contemporary wearing bar; Russia, ORDER OF ST. ANNE, 2nd class neck badge in gold and enamels; LEFROY GOLD MEDAL 1890, struck in gold by Elkingron & Co., the edge inscribed 'Colonel K. E. Haynes, C.M.G., C.B.E., R.A., 1922', 47 mm diameter, in original case of issue, test mark to rim of last, otherwise generally very fine or better (8)

Brigadier-General Kenneth Edward Haynes C.M.G. (1917), C.B.E. (1919), was educated at Malvern College and Royal Military Academy, Woolwich. He entered the Royal Artillery in 1890 and was promoted Captain in 1899; Major, 1911; Brevet Lieut-Col., 1915; Colonel, 1919. He served during the Boer War (medal and 3 clasps), and in China (medal); Asst. Superintendent of Experiments, 1901-5; Assistant Superintendent at the Royal Carriage Factory, 1907-12; Superintendent of Experiments, Shoeburyness, 1913-18; Member of Ordnance Committee 1918; Vice-President, Ordnance Committee, 1920-23; Superintendent of Design at the Royal Arsenal, 1924-25; President Royal Artillery Committee, 1925; Member, Ordnance Committee, 1925-27, and Vice-President, 1927-8; retired pay with the rank of Brigadier-General, 1928.
