BRITISH SOUTH AFRICA COMPANY MEDAL 1890-97, reverse Matabeleland 1893 (Scout J. Murray-Gourlay, Salisbury House) good very fine and toned

Four Scouts are shown on the medal roll including J.W. Collenbrander (Capt., Collenbrander's Cape Boys, 1896) and The Hon. M. Gifford, C.M.G. (Lt.Col. Giffords Horse, 1896). Mr. J. Murray-Gourley well known as one of the Scouts of the Chartered Company, rendered signal services during the war among those who are called the 'eyes and ears' of a military force and has assisted in the task of supplying this work with some most valuable photographs made during the campaign.
