A rare Polar exploration pair awarded for Scott's Antarctic Expedition in H.M.S. Discovery to Able Seaman George B. Croucher, Royal Navy

POLAR MEDAL 1904, 1 clasp, Antarctic 1902-04 (AB. 'Discovery'); ROYAL GEOGRAPHICAL SOCIETY, special silver medal presented to the officers and crew of the expedition, officially impressed on the edge (George B. Croucher, R.N.) and contained in its original Wyon case of issue, some light contact marks and bruising over rank on first, very fine, otherwise good very fine and rare (2)

George Croucher was a native of Grimsby and is mentioned in Wilson's diary as being the youngest member of the mess section on the expedition.
