Major-General Frederick Blundell was present at the siege of Kurnool in 1815; Mahratta War 1817-18, including the battle of Maheidpoor, 21 December, 1817, and the siege of Talneir, 27 February, 1818. During the China War of 1840-42 he was present at the capture of Shanghai, 1 July, 1840; storming of Ching-keangfoo, 21 July, 1842, and the operations before Nanking in the same year. For his services during the campaign in China he was mentioned in despatches and created Companion of the Bath, London Gazette, 27 December, 1842. In October and November, 1848, he commanded an expedition against Goolburgah. He died at Cheltenham, 5 July, 1860, after 44 years service in the Artillery.
