A scarce Korean group of five to Corporal J.E. Short, B Company, Glosters, who was killed in action at Imjin River

1939-45 STAR; BURMA STAR; WAR MEDAL; KOREA 1950-53 (14421345 Cpl., Glosters); U.N. KOREA, the group mounted for wear, good very fine (5)

Corporal J.E. Short was killed inaction at lmjin River on 24 April, 1951. During the fighting on the night of 23rd/24th April, B Company had become completely isolated and had been heavily attacked by successive waves of Chinese. By first light they had inflicted great damage on the Chinese but had also received severe casualties themselves.The group is sold with an original Memorial Scroll and a telegram to Mrs. Short which reads:' Cancel previous telegraph referring to Cpl. J.E. Short, I. Glosters not yet identified as prisoner of war.'
